This article will show you how to use different aspects of the Plays app in Amity.
It covers the following sections:
- Plays toolbar
- Dispaly mode
- Change views
- Play profile
Plays toolbar
The Plays toolbar offers different features that allow for more functionality on both card and list mode.
1. Search bar
The search bar allows you to find all accounts containing your search term that are in the playbook (e.g. Onboarding) and the outcome (e.g. Success) you’re currently viewing.
2. Sort order
You can toggle the sort order of your plays between 'Oldest First', 'Newest First', 'Oldest in Stage First', 'Newest in Stage First', 'Playbook Deadline', and 'Stage Deadline'.
3. Switch display modes
You can switch the display of your tasks between board mode and list mode. The default is set on card view.
4. Switch outcome filter
You can view your plays of different outcomes (i.e. Closed - Success or Failed) anytime by clicking on this button.
5. Add a play
This is where you can add a new play to the playbook you’re currently viewing.
6. Play sidebar
The play sidebar is a useful panel that displays a concise overview of the play. There are also options to close, edit, delete, and view the play's profile or the account's profile.
The Accounts tab in the sidebar displays the Overview and Health information of the account that the play is associated with.
7. Playbook menu
This dropdown menu allows you to choose which playbook you are viewing. Selecting a different playbook will display the stages and plays within it.
8. Play views
All of the play views appear here. Your own views, as well as team views, are visible. These views can be edited, cloned, and deleted from the view's action menu.
Views can be added from the blue plus button at the bottom of the view panel.
Display mode
There are two ways to display plays: list mode and board mode.
Amity’s default setting for plays is board mode. In this mode, plays are represented as cards with basic information about them, such as a play's progression color and length (which will change as time goes on). If the bar becomes red, that means the task is overdue in its current stage.
Below is a list of all the information on a play card.
- Account name
- Play progression
- Action menu
- Due date
- Assignee
In list mode plays are displayed as rows, divided into sections by stage. Below is a list of all the information on a play in list mode.
- Row picker (to drag play to different stage)
- Account name
- Assignee
- Tags on play
- Tasks
- Due date
- Action menu
Change views
There are predefined team views for each team member. A team member’s view will display only plays that they are assigned to in a given playbook.
You can create new views or clone existing ones and add criteria to them based on how you want to see your plays. To learn more about views, check out this article.
Play profile
Each play has a profile, which you can access in two ways:
- Open a play in the sidebar and click on the account name.
- Click on the action menu of a play and select ‘View Profile’.
In the profile, you can edit the play’s properties. You can also add links, notes, and tasks to the play from the left side menu. The tasks you add will be viewable from the Plays app in the sidebar (plus the Tasks app and the tasks section of the account profile). Links and notes will be viewable only from the play profile.
At the the bottom of the left side menu, there is a button that allows you to change the play’s outcome or delete the play.
Edit play properties
You can edit play properties from either the action menu on the play card, or from the action menu in the play profile.
- Navigate to the Plays app.
- Click the action menu of the play you want to edit.
- Click Edit and change your desired properties.
- Click Save.
Note: You can flag a play by checking the Flagged box at the bottom of the modal, under Assignee. Flagging a play will highlight it.
