Display mode
There are two ways to display tasks: board mode and list mode.
Amity’s default setting for tasks is board mode. In this mode tasks are represented as cards with basic information. The cards are displayed in columns based on their stage.
A task's countdown color and length changes as time goes on. The countdown will start off as green and progress to yellow, then red (if the task becomes overdue).
Below is a list of all the information on a task card.
- Task progression
- Number of days since the task was created
- Task name
- Action menu
- Account name
- Assignee
- Due date
In list mode, each task is displayed in a row.

- Completion check box
- Task name
- Assignee
- Account name
- Due date
- Tags
- Action menu
The tasks are organized in the following groups:
1. Upcoming - Tasks that are overdue or due up to 3 days from today.
2. Later - Tasks due more than 3 days from today
3. Backlog - Tasks with no due date.
4. Completed - Tasks that are completed but have not been archived.
In both board and list mode, the background color of a task will change depending on the task's due date. If the task is due today, the background color is yellow. If the task is overdue, the background color will be red.
Change task stage
By default, Amity has the following stages for tasks: 'Not Started', 'In Progress', 'Waiting For', and 'Completed'. To change these default stages to new ones, read the Tasks Administration article.
You can change which stage a task is in using these two ways:
- Drag and drop the card from one stage to another (in board mode).
- Click the action menu of the task, click Edit, and change the stage property (in card or list mode).
Change views
There is a predefined team view (i.e. ‘All tasks’) and personal view (i.e. ‘My tasks’) for each team member. A team member’s view will display only tasks that they are assigned to.
You can create new views or clone existing ones and add criteria to them based on how you want to see your tasks. To learn more about views, check out this article.
